Challenged by Rules

Ever since I can remember, I've been challenged by rules.
Chances are, if they're posted, the first thing that comes to my mind is to try to find a way to circumnavigate the expectations on said signage, while enjoying an unknown author's choice of commanding words.
One of my favorite 'forbidden' places to go is tiny Crescent Beach along the southern Connecticut shore. Unless you are a member, you're not encouraged to linger there. I have done so, however, many times...walking slowly along the short expanse of beach looking for beach glass or shells while listening to the sound of water spilling gently onto the shore.
It's been a long time since I've been to that special place. Someday, I'll return and once again, ignore the rules.
